Weapon-Dealing Duo Found With Illegal Guns At Toms River Motel, Police Say

A man and woman from Ocean County were accused of illegally selling guns, authorities said.

George Garulle of Beachwood and Dana Restiano of Whiting were arrested on Monday, Nov. 4, the Stafford Township Police Department said in a news release.

Investigators executed two search warrants at the Howard Johnson motel in Toms River and a home on Neptune Avenue in Beachwood. Garulle and Restaino were found with several illegal guns, including defaced guns, ghost guns, rifles, and shotguns.

Police also discovered the two had high-capacity magazines, an undisclosed amount of ammunition, methamphetamine, and "a substantial amount" of cash.

Restiano, 39, and Garulle, 55, were charged with four counts each of possession of a firearm without a serial number and unlawful possession of rifles/shotguns, two counts of possession of large-capacity magazines, and one count each of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a defaced firearm, and distribution an undetectable firearm.

Garulle was also charged with certain persons not to have a weapon. He and Restiano were brought to the Ocean County Jail to await a detention hearing.

Restiano wasn't listed on the jail's website but Garulle was on the roster as of Friday, Nov. 8.
